Trying to find Pro Tools training for Video Production
Hey there, everyone. I’m a new user to Pro Tools 7, and I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed. Let me preface by saying that I’m an Avid Media Composer editor and After Effects guy by trade. But I’ve always been interested in the esoteric world of audio mixing, and I’m finally getting my chance to explore. The company I work for just purchased a Pro Tools LE system, and I’m (for now) the designated sound mixer.
So I’ve got a LOT of learning to do. The company paid for an live 8 hour training session, so now I know just enough to barely know what I’m doing. I’m trying to find good, thorough books or DVDs that teach not only the ins and outs of the Pro Tools interface, but, more importantly, the theory and practice of audio mixing, as well as tricks for getting the most out of mix sessions. But overarching all of this, I’m looking for a book with a focus on mixing audio for film and video, NOT music. Most of the books I’ve found focus primarily on recording and mixing music, which, while I’m sure translates some to what I’m doing, is still quite removed from my day to day tasks.
Any ideas?
