Hope this is the right forum section. Apologies if not.

I can’t find a timeline Sequence in FCP7 that I worked on a few months ago. For some reason it’s not anywhere that I’ve looked. I’ve gone through Trash and retrieved old project files and opened them but can’t find the sequence still. Autosave Vault doesn’t have anything either.

Weird thing is, when I open up some old projects of the time when I was working on the Timeline Sequence, I find the Bins open that have the files that I used, but not the sequence. I got more project files to still open from Trash but it’s taking ages and a headache doing all of this, not sure if it will work.

I’m wondering if I can select a file in the bin and if there’s a function I can use to trace it back to the timeline that used it. Or if there are other ways to find this timeline.

Can anyone help on this? Thank you all.

if you now what the sequence was called, you can do a search for it within FCP,
and you can search for it within multiple open projects.

you can refine your FCP searches by Type= sequence if you cant remember the name.

Thanks Nick. No I can’t remember it’s name. I’ll try what you said now, thanks.

Meanwhile, if there’s any other suggestions guys, please do chime in.

I do Control F search but I put in ‘sequence’ or any other name I think I may have called it, but nothing’s happening.

I’m obviously much newer to FCP than you guys, so I’m sure I’m not doing this right. How exactly am I supposed to be doing this? 🙂

with the Browser active, command F opens the search window

in the search window there is a pulldown set to “Any Column”
in there, chose TYPE, and write sequence in the box
