Ok I figured out the media encoder so now I’m just trying to get to the 1080p problem

What preset are you starting with?
On the video tab, you can type the exact size of your finished work.

Ok..so now I would like to have my video play in the full area of the screen. See since I’ve been using HD I can only get it to play in the little box with black borders all around. How do I fix that? Is it an aspect ratio thing? cuz even if I shot it in widescreen (which I did) I would think that it would go all the way to the left and right edges..

..and while we’re at this when I use Maximum quality or a high bit rate (unsure which yet) I get grainy footage output is that right??
