Hi all creative minds out there,

Im working with a matchcut video at the moment. I’m having trouble with a scene.

The scene is the front seats of a car filmed from behind. First passenger look over and say something to the camera and then the driver (who is the same person). Now I need to put together the two scenes so that it looks like a scene with the same person in both seats. As you can see in the clip there is a slight exposure difference and movement of camera.

Here is a clip so you can see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GtHZk4wwGw

How do I do this best in AE? I can find no information on this. I’m not English so maybe there’s a term out there that I do not know about?

    Lotta love!

You will need to warp one image to fit the other (effects like Bezier Warp or Mesh Warp from the Distort category), and you’ll need to balance the images (effects like Curves or Levels from the Color Correction category).

I don’t know a lot about cloning in After Effects, but instead of mashing the clips together in the middle, try to mask only one person, and set it to remove the un-masked areas on one clip.

I masked out the person to the leftand just let the mask change size when she turns. With some feathering and such – it looks fins. Thank you!
