    Good evening all!

I’m trying to create something similar to the attached (the tapering, if that’s the right word, towards to the top isn’t necessary) in E3D (to then use as a sprite in Trapcode Particular).

I just can’t get my head round if it is possible. I have tried creating a long thin rectangular plane in E3D and then using the bend and twist properties but I don’t seem to be able to get it to do what I want.

I would just create it natively in AE with a gold strip and CC Cylinder duplicated to achieve multiple twists, but I really want to be able to use the E3D reflection environment.

    Any advice is really appreciated.

    Hi Matt,

You may easily create the 3D object in any 3D application and import it into Element 3D.

Element 3D works extremely well with Cinema 4D, however if you like to use Blender or 3D application to make your 3D object, you can always import an obj file into the E3D.

I generated the shape with Cinema 4D and element, which can then be fed into any particle effects, in this case Particular.

A preview of what I’ve done is provided. I’ve included a movie file for the animation. Please let me know if you have any further questions.
