Trying to Convert 16:9 movie to 2.39:1 in FCPx
Hi all, I am working on Final Cut Pro X and trying to convert a film from 16:9 to 2.39:1 (Cinescope/Scope). I can’t figure out how to do this through FCPX or through the Apple Converter. Does anyone out there have any recommendations? Thanks so much.

You would have to physically change its dimensions in Compressor. The other way is to crop the image Hopefully, it was shot with the 2.39:1 in mind.
