Troubleshooting – can’t open XML from FCPX in DaVinci Resolve 12
Hello all,
I am completly new to DaVinci Resolve. I am trying to move my project from FCPX to Premiere. Found some tutiorial on Youtube. Looks fairly easy. Exept…. DaVinci Resolve does not open XML. The beach ball is hanging already for an hour. The project is 5 min long. Any idea what is going on?

Bringing in the XML of a SEQUENCE ONLY, right? Not an XML of the entire project? Because you can only do this with sequences.

Thank you for your response. Actually it finally got opened. It just took more than an hour. But…some clips are messed up. Compound clips mostly. Should I breake down compaund clips in FCPX first?

Yes. That’s a unique thing to FCPX.

Yes…compound clips from FCX are a big issue. They most likely are the cause of this slow import as well. Commit the edits on the FCX side, so collapse the compounds. And then export the XML. I suggest Media Managing all the footage used in the cut to an external location as well.
