  • Trouble with subclips and XML export

I’ve been cutting a sequence using subclips in Premiere. I exported an XML to Final Cut Pro for a round trip to Color.

The few “regular” clips in my sequence came into FCP just fine. However, all the subclips in my sequence have had their in/out points shifted. Most were shifted forward exactly 25 frames, but a handful shifted a seemingly arbitrary amount, like 58 or 75 frames. Editing with a 23.98 timebase, so none of these numbers make sense.

No issues marked in the Translation Report, aside from the expected replacement of generators with Slug and transitions with cross dissolves. Footage is ProRes LT, created using the Canon EOS plugin for FCP Log & Transfer.

Anyone have any idea what’s going on here?

I’m finding that if I XML from PP to FCP all my subclips in my bins have lost their in and out points.

My one subclip in the sequence faired OK.

    Has anyone found a solution?

I am finding that when I import the XML into FCP 7, the source clips and subclips all have their start Timecode set to 00:00:00. My source file actually starts at 00:58:00

However, in Premiere, they read correctly. I have even tried reimporting the XML into Premiere and it comes across just fine.

    Any thoughts?
