    Hey,

Only recently I discovered CS-Tools and the bloom one in particular looks like something that would save me a lot of time. I really like the effect and would like to have the same look appear on a basic model of a house. The trouble is that it seems to only work (nicely) with splines. Plus, it doesn’t even seem to work with custom splines (ie: imported from illustrator) as you cannot define the axis. It seems to prefer an XZ plane axis for the splines which you are only able to set on preset spline shapes in C4D such as the star shape, flower etc.

I would really love to know how I could use this in the same way with any odd object. When I try using it on my very simple house model it doesn’t even grow from the ground up. It appears from the side and it looks horrible.

Please! help would be appreciated. I’m depending on this to cut down on having to tediously animate these. It’s quite urgent as my assignment is due quite soon.

    Thanks in advance!

[Eugene Hooper] “The trouble is that it seems to only work (nicely) with splines”

It’s designed that way, you’d have to make changes to it to get an object in there that doesn’t have two duplicates and the thickness settings and others would be useless without the extruded spline they were meant for.

use the Axis Tool to get the Y axis pointing perpendicular to your imported spline (like it does if you have a parametric spline on XZ orientation)

I see, I’m not familiar with expresso although when I double click on the expresso tag next to my bloom I see a complicated bunch of lines linking up other things…..is it possible to make changes to it easily in order to accept objects?

    Thanks in advance,

    Eugene
