  Trouble with a 1200a deck- any ideas?

  Got a friend with a 1200a deck that seems to have some trouble. Anyone have any recommendations for the below description?

  “The unit powers up for about 2 seconds then turns itself off. I
  had initially installed the 1394 card that came separately. I’ve tried
  removing the card and no difference. ”
