I have recently red and re-red this post on the CC forum its the best info I’ve been able to find on the matter but still no luck. d3-(disguise) support is also stumped. https://forums.creativecow.net/docs/forums/post.php?forumid=19&postid=892871&univpostid=892871&pview=t

I have been racking my brain between C4D and d3 to get this to work, there might be a better process so I can figure out the best way to approach this.

My process thus far has been to take a photo of the RWO object, then I used the camera calibrator to recreate the RWO object in C4D, animated over the model, then I combined all of the objects to create one object and exported the file as an .obj.

Other steps I took in trying to figure this out. Creating and unwrapping the UV’s, by doing this I realized a workflow if I were designing the animation in After Effects. I used that final .obj with all the data, . My gig is on the 26th and I still have to build more 3D structures, model them and create several animations over the models.

The line in the sand seems to be that their are different XYZ coordinates and settings for C4D and D3. Therefore, I can’t seem to just punch in the data and have it transfer over so d3’s perspective mapping sees the right angle.

Just to be clear, mapping (in d3’s perspective mapping) almost matches up. It feels like I just don’t have the kind of control I need to perfectly line it up in d3 but there has to be something I’m missing, probably in C4D

I have reached out to D3 support and they keep telling me to match the camera in C4D with the camera in perspective mapping (d3) and there is not enough relation between the two softwares. I have tried plugging different settings and coordinates of C4d’s camera into d3’s perspective mapping to no avail.

Any insight is valuable! Thank you so much for you time!

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
