trouble locking down audio from imported CD on timeline, urgent help needed
Hi,
I’m having trouble locking down the sound for a project I’m working on with Final Cut Express. I imported sound from a CD the icon shows in the viewer and I was also able to drag it to the timeline and play it along with the video but when I eject the CD the sound in the timeline is missing and the sound icon in the viewer has this red diagonal line running over it. Is there any way I can lock the sound permanenty? I’ve tried re-inserting the disk but all it does is play until is in and then it disappears as soon as I eject the CD.

You need to copy the file to your hard drive and THEN import to FCP. Final Cut only references the files you import, it doesn’t do the management. You should also name the file before you bring it in to FCP. Good luck.
