I’m working in a DV NTSC sequence and I’m having trouble playing jpegs. I can put them in the timeline, but evertime I do I get a message that says: Codec not found. Display is unavailable. Select a different codec using sequence settings.

I’ve never had this problem with jpegs before. I converted them to RGB, so I know it is not a colour issue. I’ve even tried to convert them to TGAs and TIFFs and I get the same result every time. Is there anything else I need to do to the images to make them work?

    Thanks

    Chris

Trash or put your preference file for FCP aside, create a new project file and sequence and see if this doesn’t clear things up.

Thanks Jerry. This didn’t work though. Changing the files to 16 bit TIFFs seems to work though. Problem is, I have 820 pictures to go through and using automate batch in Photoshop requires me to save them 1 at a time.

Strange – I have only seen this with CMYK images. Why doesn’t batch conversion in PS work for you?
