  • Trouble exporting QT from Avid Express 4.3 for use in DVD Studio Pro 2.0

I am trying to export 1hr50min video-only sequence out of Avid Express Pro to desktop so that I can import it into DVD Studio Pro. I can’t seem to export a QT. I tried “same as source” and it keeps telling me the Avid can’t export a bin. I have also tried it with slight compression but it seems it is too large. Any suggestions?

You should see if DVD Studio can accept a QT Reference file instead of the actual rendered mov. I don’t operate on a Mac so I’m not familiar with DVD Studio. Make sure the sequence or clip you want to export is highlighted (and has focus) in the Avid bin. The Avid’s menus are very “context sensitive” and change quite drastically based on which window or file has focus/highlight.

Note: I drive an Avid Adrenaline but based on I think the info should be much the same.

QT reference should do the trick. Also check your QT version, and make sure it’s compatible with the AXPro version you are running.

Thanks. I actually tried the QT export using Sorenson 3 settings and it looks really good. Will now try and compress it further on import into DVD Studio Pro. Will post how it worked out. Many thanks once again.
