    While using my Varicam with Chrosziel Matte box (CLWAH-F4.5) on Panasonics own SHAN TM700 Tripod Plate. I get this looseness or freedom between the camera body and the plate.
    I heard about some other solution using some other tripod plate but I

    ALL the “Sony-style” Tripod plates suck, except for the Chrosziel; once you use it, you’ll wonder how lived without it.

    Not cheap, however.

    Sony plate with Panasonic cameras has more play in it than the SCAM 700 sorry I meant to say SHAN 700.

    Best method is a filmstyle sliding dove tail plate system.

    Easy fix to get rid of play in Panasonic plate is to add 2 washers 1 or 2mm thick. They would go on the 2 philips screws underneath grey plastic piece in the back of the plate. This improves stability a lot. It may be acceptable then or just go ahead and buy Chrosziel plate that pulls down and locks camera.
