Has anyone had experience with this Manfrotto tripod & head with the EX3? 351MVC (carbon fiber) with 503HDV head. I’m looking for a sturdy but mobile tripod system for a variety of shooting: location interviews, roving B-roll, locked down for live event shoots. Lightweight is worth the extra cost for fiber carbon to me. I also liked the Manfrotto 542ART legs with auto release for quick set ups… but it’s hard to justify $1K extra cost for that feature. One concern is that I’ve read a comment that the head’s tilt lock would loosen from the camera’s weight and shift during an extended shoot. Any insights on that or other issues?

The 503 is a sweet head for the money. On the stix, I would opt for light weight over rapid setup. If you’re shooting news, that’s different.

I have them with the 519 fluid head.
The legs are great. Probably you won’t find nothing faster to set. The head is too heavy.
