I’ve got a clip of a rock face with a long zoom out. It’s hand held and very unstable…quick jerks of the camera shot on 24p so it’s got a lot of motion blur. There is a silver tripod on the rock face that I’m trying to get rid of.

I’ve tried keying out the silver on the tripod and putting a section of rock on a layer behind it, but I can’t get the section to track properly. So I tried blurring the back layer to keep the color consistent, but I noticed the key was flickering as it played. So I tried masking and feathering a rock section to put on top, which looked the best, but again, after tracking all three movements, it just didn’t fly…I think there’s too much motion blur to use the tracking successfully. I can get close, but there is wobbling that I can’t get past. And the key is flickering pretty bad…

Any suggestions for how to handle this?

    Thanks,
    Eric
