  • trimming nested sources…

Posted by Alex Udell on December 11, 2009 at 4:32 pm

    Hi all…

    FCP 7

If I take a clip in my main sequence and nest it….

then, in the nest I trim the clip, say to add handles for a dissolve on the parent sequence….

the parent sequence ripples to reflect the new length of the source in the nest…

I realize that some may find this helpful….

but in many cases I find it frustrating.

Can this helpful feature be disabled?

I know I can match the shot out and manually edit it into a new sequence, trim that and then edit that back into my main timeline….but that’s an awful lot of steps.

    Thanks,

    Alex

    I’m afraid not.

    All the best,

    Tom
