    Hello All,

I’ve recently started using hdvsplit to capture my hdv footage since premiere doesn’t split on scenes. However, after the initial capture, i’d like to do a trim on the clips, since they do take up alot of space and waste time when looking for footage. is the best way to do this to import using hdvsplit and then export trimmed clips from premiere? i use cineform for my codec. thanks.

You can make “subclips” from the source window, which will help you organize the footage. I’m afraid that won’t affect the original footage, so yes export would be the only way to reduce space.

You can however make a trimmed project based on the clips in the timeline when you are done with the project using the project manager. I wouldn’t do that before I’m done though.
