  Triming Clips

  I am working on an archiving project and capturing old tapes from 3/4 and BetaSP machines. I have the AJA I/O, but can not use the deck control features because my decks do not have RS-422 control capabilities. This has forced me to do “capture now” while digitizing. Because of the capture now and most of these tapes are 20-30min long, I end up with some black video at the end of the capture (because of the time it takes me to realize it is over). Is there a simple tool that will allow me to trim off the excess video without having to create a new file and re-export? I have tried the trim feature in Quicktime Pro, but I don’t really have the time to be re-saving all the video files. I am capturing in the DVCPro50 codec.
