Having been an Avid editor for many years now, I’m quickly learning to like a lot about FCP. One thing that really bugs me however is an oddity with the TRIM TOOL. I like to trim using the “Avid” way, wherein I open the TRIM tool by lassoing the edit I want to trim. Then I work on the A, A/B or B side of the trim until I’m happy – standard stuff of course.

The problem I’m having is that FCP often plays the audio from the “A” side of the cut when I’m trimming the “B” side, which drives me nuts! I’m I doing something wrong? Is there a setting for this?

    Many thanks!

Post more about how you are using the Trim tool… i.e. are you playing back the b side and hear the a side’s audio? or?
