coming from a long road with avid…I’m finally coming over to the bright side. I apologize in advance for most of my questions.

when in fc trim mode, I want to preview only one side of the edit to find an audio pop. I can do this but I must open up user prefs/editing and change it. Is there a keyboard shortcut that can change it to 0 on either side of the cut? Avid has fields on the trim mode window to change this quick and I was hoping there was a quicker way to do this on fc.

    tia,

Press U to cycle trim sides

Use < and > to trim single frames

Multi trim prefs can be set inside of FInal Cut Pro > Preferences windows

I’m sorry, I did not make myself clear. I do know how to do the trims but I want to “preview” only one side of the preview. I’m having a difficult audio edit…so I want to preview the cut and be able to quickly change the each side to 0 to hear where the clicks are or to hear the sibilance.

I know you can change it in the settings on fc but it’s 4clicks and a menu just to get to the entry field…so my question is there a keyboard shortcut to get there or better yet to set each side to 0.

Here is where you can change it on an avid trim window and I belive there is a keyboard shortcut to jump right in to the left field box and then tab to the right box.

Hmmm… that would be really handy.

    Here’s an option though.

Use Shift-\ to play between In/Outs. Set sequence in outs where needed. You can also use Control-L to turn on the LOOP and then trim as it loops.

Only work around I could think that would get you close to what you want to do.
