Trigger Dynamics In Clones with Effector/Xpresso
Posted by Ryan Paterson on October 16, 2018 at 5:44 pmI know this is possible I just can’t seem to crack it. A little help?

October 16, 2018 at 5:58 pmmore information, both are possible, what are you trying to do?

October 16, 2018 at 6:00 pmWell I have some clones and I’d just like to be able to control when their dynamics tags become active with a Plain Effector ideally- would like to trigger them from left to right

October 16, 2018 at 6:18 pmDynamics of the clones need to set up to Trigger At Velocity Peak, the Plain effector should have a Linear falloff and probably a small value of movement or the effector can move the clone farther (up usually) than you want if you want the clones to just drop, then animate the plain effector

October 16, 2018 at 6:38 pmAh, I completely forgot about that method. Works great, thanks. Follow-up/bonus question though- if I DID need to do this with Xpresso how would I?
I see a “trigger with Xpresso” option in the Dynamics Tag as well, how does one make that click? Say I wanted the same behavior like- Object A is within X distance of Clone(n) = trigger dynamics

October 16, 2018 at 10:30 pmI haven’t used that but a quick test and it sets the dynamics off for all the clones together. The behavior you describe would be the same as for a plain effector with a spherical falloff, unless you are looking for something fancier
