hi, if this is an obvious one, please excuse my ignorance….

i have a spline with sweep nurbs applied to make the line 3d, and i have it animating from 0-100% to make it appear to grow. i’m trying to use sketch and toon to create a triangular facet look to it, but the only sections i can get are square/rectangular…. is there any way i can convert it to triangle polygons without losing the animated growth? or if that’s not possible can someone explain how to convert it to triangular polygons anyway? i can’t figure out how to do it. (hope this makes sense?)

    thanks in advance.

You might try using the polygon reduction deformer. It will create triangles but because the sweep is a generator (creating a new mesh with each change) you may get some popping as you animate the sweep.

If you want to triangulate a static mesh you can use Functions>Triangulate. 😉
