  • Travel Matte Luma (Composite Mode in FCP7) in Premiere?

Allo! I’m trying to migrate a RED project from FCP7 to Premiere CC, and all seems to be working fine except I cannot seem to replicate the Travel Matte Luma Composite mode from FCP in premiere. Essentially, I want to take an element FX video in V2 and matte the full frame image underneath so that it mattes to the substance in V2 (in this case water). Super easy in FCP, but I’ve tried Track Matte Key in PR and it’s just not doing it. Any suggestions most welcome.

since you want luma based..I assume you made sure that track matte was set to look at RGB and not alpha?

I just looked at the options for Track Matte Key, and I don’t see that option. Not sure I follow…

Sorry …. got confused with a different software….

just that your using either matte luma or matte alpha depending on the channels you have to look at in your matte clip….
