Activity Forums Apple OS X Trash Can Key Strokes

    Command + Delete will put selected files/folders/applications into the trash.

    Command + Shift + Delete (plus return for the warning message) will empty the trash.

    You can also right-click on any file/folder/applicaiton to select “move to trash.” If you don’t have a multi-button mouse, you can use Control + Click instead, but I strongly recommend getting a multi-button mouse in the future – not Apple’s, but a good one like the one of the Logitech models.
