I have a client’s logo in PhotoShop; background is transparent; letters are black. I save it in PSD (photoshop) format/maximum compatibility, and import into Vegas. But when I put it on the timeline, the background is white. I have tried changing the alpha properties to every possible choice, but nothing makes the white base go away. In PhotoShop, the background is definitely transparent (checkerboard pattern, plus I checked by adding a layer, and marking up the bottom layer; the marks show unless I switch off the bottom layer.)

So obviously I am missing some simple answer. Thanks for your hlep!

Rick, try saving it in PNG format instead.
I always have better luck with this format 🙂

png works, but psd’s do too. Simply right click, go to Properties, and set the alpha type in the Properties menu. then click the small floppy icon in the middle of the Properties menu to set it to remember this format
