I have created an animated watermark in AE to be put over my footage in Premiere..my problem is that when i export from AE the watermark retains the black background thus making it impossible to impose on my footage in Premiere.. its probably something as simple as un checking a box that says transparent background.. i just cant find it!

Thanks in advance for your help

ps- its been so long I’ve forgotten how to extend my time line to allow for more frames to create longer graphics.. any help?

When you render your logo footage, make sure you alter the RGB setting to RGB+, that will export an alpha channel as well.

To extend your timeline, go to Composition > Composition Settings and change the length of your comp.

    Hope both of those help

To expand the previous post a little. You’ll need to find a codec for your rendered video that also supports an alpha channel (DV AVI uses compression and will not allow an alpha channel) and also is compatible with Premiere. You best option might be for an uncompressed AVI, choosing “RGB + Alpha” and “straight” matte.
Premiere should be able to import this footage and recognize the alpha channel thus making your transparent areas transparent…
