    Transparent GIF and PDF backgrounds aren’t transparent in FCP

    I thought that transparent settings, like making a white backgound to a GIF or PDF picture invisible, were recognised by FCP? I’m having no luck. Can someone help?
    BTW, I’m in Oz, so I tend to see replies 12 hours later.
