  • Transparent (cutout) Titles in FCP7

I know I wont use the correct terminology here, because if I knew the terminology my searches would have been more productive.

I am looking for instructions or a plug-in for FCP7 that will allow me to create titles that are “cutout” of a solid foreground, allowing the video behind to show through the text. I have seen this effect a few times before, but cannot find an example at the moment.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    – Put an image in layer 1 and another in layer 3.
    – Put a text generator in layer 2.
    – In the layer 2 set the Composite Mode: Travel Matte Alpha
The text will cut the layer 3 picture on top of the layer 1.
Look for the tutorials of Walter Biscardi on Travel mattes to learn more.
    Cheers,
