Transparent Background help
I have a circular logo that I want to spin on a transparent background. When I do so and preview within After Effects it looks exactly as I want it to (checkerboard showing in background). The problem occurs when I render the animation, The logo spins but the background colour is visible.
I require a targa sequence but have also tried qtime(with alpha) I have tried the psd file with & without alpha channels, I replaced the logo with an eps and also tried rotating a

I’m not sure what you mean? We would need a little more info about what you are trying to do, before I understand how to help. What is you end result?

Until you place the logo over a new background the black will still be visible. You also may want to check in AE after you render it. Throw it over a new background, does it work? If so, then it’s something to do with your next step, not AE.Make sure you are rendering millions colors +

I think what he means is that he wants the logo to be animating by itself through an alpha channel where all you see is the logo, so he can add it to something else.
Are you sure there’s no solid sandwiching the layer? The background in ae is automatically transparent and stands for nothing other than a reference matte. If nothing is added, your logo should be animating with no background. When you imported it from ps or ae, did you import it as a “composition” or “footage” layer. Try to import as a composition. Do this by, ctrl clicking it then below on the option for footage change it to composition.
