  • Translating Tiffen DFX effects in FCP XML

I have successfully converted my FCP7 project to Premiere CS6 (obviously it was a breeze.)
The only issues I am having is that I can’t translate my Tiffen DFX effects. Both Programs have Tiffen DFX installed.

Obviously I can redo all of the work I’ve done in FCP but I would love to learn if there is a method for exporting that information.

Each clip has a tweaked effect, so I don’t feel like doing it over.

    Thanks,

    Erick

    Hi Erick,

Mike Rubin from Tiffen here. I’m Director of Marketing so I preface everything with saying I know my products but I’m not a technical expert or professional editor.

If you are using version 3 then the solution would be to save your Setup File form the Dfx interface in FCP from and then import the Setup File into Adobe Premiere using the Dfx interface.

I don’t know enough about the translation from FCP to Premiere (other than watching some videos) so I am not sure what would happen with key-framing and levels of effects applied.

Please feel free to contact support: https://www.tiffensoftware.com/support

Also you can email me but I will have to pass it on to our support team: mrubin (at) tiffen (dot) com
