I am trying to motion sketch a path to use as a control point for an effect’s Source Point keyframes, but the effect is on a layer that’s smaller than comp size, and I’m using a Null Object for the control.

When I try to parent my Effect layer’s Source Point property to the Null object that I Motion Sketched, the source point ends up way off to the South and the East of the original path keyframes from the Null’s position.

Can someone fill me in on how to line those 2 properties back up?

    Thanks all!

I’m sure there are a few solutions. For example, I think there must be an expression using toComp that would work for you. However, I think precomping your item and apply the effect to the precomp is a simpler way to go.
