  • Translating Audio Bandpass settings into Vegas?

I’m trying to do an audio “walkie-talkie” effect which was posted about on another forum, but don’t know enough about audio to know how to translate it into Vegas.

“Sound Forge has a bandpass option under Graphic EQ->Parametric->Bandpass …Something like that…there should be an option under bandpass in one of the drop boxes for something like radio/walkie,etc. Either way you can play around with the various bandpass filters til you find the one that suits you.”

There’s no walkie-talkie preset in the Vegas Parametric EQ FX. Another contributor to the thread said:

“On Goldwave bandpass, I use: From: 1000; To: 2000; Bandpass Steepness: 2”

How do I translate that into Vegas’ Parametric EQ? Or does anyone have any other suggestions on how to create this effect? Sorry, I just don’t know a lot about audio. I know enough to get around, but its people like me that Adobe put together the Soundbooth software with its “louder” button (unfortunately I don’t have Soundbooth either).

While there is no walkie-talkie FX, there is a phone line FX and I’d use that as a start.
Play with it and see if you can tweak it further.
