I have a 1080/60p timeline that I have dropped a few stills into over the video. Every cross disolve from the video to the still and then back to the video has a verticle jump of a few lines. It jumps up at the start of the transition and then back down at the end. Any ideas as to how to get rid of this? I have tried changing the field dominance of the still but no luck. The timeline is native to the video.

Try moving the stills up onto video track 2 – or whatever the next higher video track is – and drop the cross-dissolve on the heads and tails of each, or manually animate their opacity in and out with key-frames.

Whenever I have cross-fade issues, this seems to work.

can you let us know if this is happening with a render…

Also do you have the Mercury Engine running in Software or GPU Hardware Mode?

It could just be a quality “look” that happens when processing that section of the “effect” of transition being used but doesn’t appear when exported or rendered out.

    Let us know 🙂

Yes, all appears well after it is rendered out. It just happened when it was on the timeline. Thanks.
