  • Transitions do not render with multicam sequence

I have had this problem since Premiere Pro 2.0, and am now on 3.1.1 and it still occurs.

I will have cut my multicam sequence with no problems, and then want to add simple fade-in and fade-out transitions to the head and tail ends. I tried this using the Cross Dissolve effect by dragging and dropping it both on my nested sequence (where all the multicam cuts appear), and within the sequence itself that contains 3 video tracks of video that I cut between.

After applying the transition in either of these cases and running File > Export > Movie, the transition is not in the final output! It shows the fade-in and fade-out in the normal reference monitor within Premiere, but doesn’t show in the final output.

I have tried rendering my sequence within Premiere so there is a green line above the transitions in the timeline, indicating that footage has been rendered. Still nothing.

Is this a bug or could I be doing something wrong?

    Thanks,

It may be a bug. Have you tried creating black video and then putting it at the head and tail of the sequence or the clips? Then dissolve from/to the black clip. If you tried this, nevermind.

BTW, I suggest this because it is exactly what I have to do to get the sequence to work in AVID Adrenaline MC.

    Shawn,
Adding a layer under the multicam nested sequence and putting a black BMP under it solved the crossfade not showing up. I applied the cross dissolve to the multicam sequence and it now shows in export. Thanks for the help!
