    Hi,
an easy question 🙂 I have a 4 minute clip of someone playing an instrument, obviously the sound is nicely synchronized with the pictures. I want to add some clips on top of that track to give the effect of the musician viewed from different angles. For these clips there is no synch but I hope that people will not notice he’s playing a different tune (ok so that is wishful thinking but perhaps if I keep these clips short enough). That all works like a charm but … I would like the clips on top to transition with the track below. e.g. I would the clip on top to cross fade in and cross fade out as it would do if it had an adjacent clip.

All I can think of is a transparency envelope or slicing up my in synch track with gaps big enough for the clips above.
    Are there any better ways?
    thanks

Mark, I believe you just place your cursor at the top edge of the clip in question and when your cursor changes to the arc “Fade Offset” you just click/drag an appropriate amount of time.

Fade the clips on the upper track in and out and you’ll get the effect you want.

thanks very much, things are much smoother now. I was convinced transitions needed two adjacent clips.
