I’m having a problem I hope someone can help me with. There are a couple of transitions (both fades to black of longer than 1 second) in a project I’m working on that play smoothly on the timeline without rendering, but jump back a few frames when I render or export them. I have tried using various transitions types and lengths but the problem occurs every time. Any ideas as to what’s causing it and how to fix it?

I am using FCP 5.1 on a MacPro dual 2.66 GHz 2GB RAM

    Thanks,
    Justin

A work around might be to place a video slug (from the generator menu) above the video, and ramp the opacity of the black from 0 to 100 then back down again.

    Go here:

and scroll down to The Black Art of Slug Fading.

Sorry I can only treat the symptom, not the cause.
