Hi, I’m a former FCP 7 user, and also a sort-of FCP X user, but I have a client who wants the “film flash” transitions in his video, and we are editing in Adobe Premiere Pro CS6. The tutorial on how to use the “Nattress Film Transitions”, that we just bought, show (on their YouTube tutorial) that the transition can be applied “in between” two clips, whereas in Premiere, you cannot perform this action of applying the transition “in between” two clips, as we had hoped. The transition drops on to one clip, does the effect all on the oe clip, not in between the two clips…

In FCP X and in FCP 7, we’ve used these plugins same before on other client projects, and now with Premiere, we want to be able to easily drag and drop the transitions in between two clips, and move on.

    Can anyone help?

Here’s the packet we got: https://www.nattress.com/?q=FilmTrans%20

    Here’s the tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TltJZV1Y8ak#at=39

You need enough head and tail for a trans. to work properly.

Tom, I just downloaded the demo from FXFactory and noticed that none of the plugin effects loaded in Premiere’s Video Transitions folder. They all loaded in the Video Effects folder.

Is that what you found as well?

If so, none of those will work as a transition in Premiere, as it’s not regarded by the program as a transition. I’d touch base with FXFactory and see what the deal is.

According to the website it is compatible with After effects but there is no mention of Premiere Pro. Suspect it will not work.

I don’t know this particular transition, but what I say below works with a lot of different transitions.

Try placing the A side clip above the B side clip so that they overlap the length of the proposed transition, cut the A side clip on the first frame of the B side clip an apply the transition to the new clip. Depending on what kind of controls are built into the effect, you then may need to keyframe the opacity of the transition clip to activate the transition.

Transitions now work natively in Premiere Pro:

I am having this problem currently. I am using Premier CC and FXfactory Pro 4.1.4. The FXfactory transitions are under the FXfactory Effects so I can not use them between to clips. Other computers a work have FXfactory transitions under the correct file structure.

    Any ideas?

    Hi Josh,

This happens when you are running an out of date version of Premiere Pro or FxFactory. Please be sure to update both applications to the latest version.
