    Hello There,

I have done some looking on the forum, but have not quite found an answer for this one. I have copied my “Cross Dissolve” video transtion for FCP (Cross Dissolve Copy). I added the “Cross Dissolve Copy” to my Favorites in the Effects tab. I have changed the duration for the Cross Dissolve and the copy to 20 frames. Or so I thought. I have set this for my default transition.

I like to believe I am smart, and use Command-T to add a transition to the edit point on a clip. When I do this the duration is 25 frames!
I then have to change the duration to 20 frames manually (right click, etc). I am working with a NTSC 720×480 sequence, using still images.
The transition shows as 20 frames in the Effects area. Is there something in the sequence properties that might cause this?

Thanks for a great source of info,

    eric

P.S. I did create a temporary nightmare for myself by trashing my FCP preferences – I was able to recover, but the story is too long to post on the forum.

after you change the duration in the browser, right-click on the cross dissolve and set to default transition. if i remember correctly you have to do both, even though it’s already underlined as the default.

    Hello Joey,
I am pretty sure I did that, but… I will follow your tip to be sure!

    Thanks,

    eric
