    Hi,
    Right now I’m achieving what I want through a simple distort effect (“Transform”), but I’m wanting to achieve the same thing using an expression, so that I’m able to eventually convert it’s path to keyframes and generate a new motion path which is offset from an original layer. I’m going to be taking these into Newton, which is the reason why. Here’s a video of what I want (on the left). On the right is an attempt to offset the position using an expression, but it’s not doing what I want it to. I think I need an entirely new expression for it, but I don’t know where to start or how to achieve it.

    And finally, here’s the transform effect and how I have it set (basically, I modified the Position values in it):

    Thanks for any help!

    Try this:

    offset = 40;
    value + toCompVec([0,1,0])*offset

    And of course, as always, Dan’s the Man. Thanks so much Dan, it works perfectly. I’m sure I speak for all of us when I say thank you for taking the time and posting on these forums.
