  • Transform a shape layer asymmetrically

    Hi all,

Let’s say I have a shape layer that I’d like to resize. When I drag one side of it, it moves symmetrically, like this:

But I only want it to move from one side, asymmetrically, like this:

Is there a modifier-key or a setting to accomplish this? Resizing symmetrically and then adjusting position is resulting in a lot of trial-and-error and wasted time laying out elements.

    Thanks in advance!

Thanks Dave, this works fine on a mask, but not on the path of a shape layer.

Ah! There’s a separate anchor point for each shape layer. And when I move that it indeed behaves as I’d like. However moving the anchor point of a shape also moves the shape itself, which defeats the point of the action altogether. Is there a way to move that action point without the shape repositioning itself?

I don’t think you can do that with the current implementation of shape layers. At least not with the functionality you intend.
