    Hi
I’ve been transferring BPAV folders to my mac just using the copy command. I’m worried that I may not be transferring everything or that something gets lost in the process. So I started using Shotput to transfer so that I’d be sure that everything was transferred. Would it have been good enough to just verify the size of the file using the copy command ? What’s the best way to copy the content of cards and be sure that nothing got lost or dropped. The copy command is a lot faster than Shotput

Sounds like you need to upgrade your ShotPut to the current version. It’s much faster than Finder because it uses multi-threading.

(Early versions of ShotPut EXpress used Apple’s Cocoa copy commands which turned out to be very slow compared to standard UNIX commands that it now uses.)

Also, be sure you’re using the ‘minimal’ error checking option in ShotPut. This is very accurate and very fast. A full byte-byte comparison can take a long time and should only be used in drastic situations.

Video logging is just the beginning…
