  • Transferring project from old PC with CS4 to new Pc with Prem Pro CS5 – error message

    Hi all

I am having some problems with transferring a Premiere project from my old PC which has CS4 on it to my new upgraded PC which has CS5. I get the following error message and the project doesn’t load:

This project contained a sequence that could not be opened. No sequence preview preset file or codec could be associated with this sequence type.

What I have done so far with no results:

    1. I first packaged the project in CS4 in the project manager thinking that was all I needed to do – copied the package onto my new PC and when opening the project the error message comes up and project does not load.

    2. Looked on forums online. For example – https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/kb/missing-sequence-presets.html

    3. Tried uninstalling and re-installing

    4. Added codecs to the new PC such as Divx, Quicktime, K-Lite.

NB the project I am trying to load is just footage that has been trimmed in the timeline sequence ready to be edited together with transitions, effects etc.

I would be grateful for someone to give me some advice on this.

    Kind regards
    Stuart

Never install a codec pack such as K-lite on a editing machine.
    It messes up your codecs.

Try transferring the original project instead of the one done by the project manager.
