  • Transferring Media Using Media Manager…

I’ve learned that using Media Manager is a good tool to use within FCP when transferring media to and from external drives – however with this last project, I’ve run into a small concern: when I open the FCP file from where I copied it to, amongst all the media files I copied over to the new drive, FCP tells me the scratch disk is missing.

I would have thought that FCP’s Media Manager would appoint the scratch disk to it’s new destination, the new hard drive – I noticed all of the media files in my bins are there, yet I have a yellow render bar over most of the media in the timeline now.

I would continue to work on this project today, but I’m a little worried that if I have to manually point the scratch disk to a new destination within the projects folder in the new drive, I will have to move everything over to the old drive later, and then back again making things more confusing.
