    HI
Am I right in thinking that if a project has been cut on a media composer elsewhere, to transfer it into my MC6 i just
    1) copy the project into my projects bin
    2) copy the mxf files from the old computer to the mxf foler on my machine, trash the databases and let my avid re create the drive databases, and it should all be there for me.

Or am I being too simple.

It should be that simple. MC will rebuild its database upon launch. Deleting the those files is only when it doesn’t for one reason or another. Under the file menu, there are also refresh and load media database commands if needed.

As far as projects go, just put the project in the same folder as the other projects – for example: shared avid projects.

You may not even need to trash the databases.
If moving the To a system that already has media on it, just change the name of the media folder from “1” (or whatever it is) to another number. Then copy the folder to the MXF folder on the new system. The existing database should be recognized at startup.
