I don’t have the money for a transfer house. Is there a way to tranfer from vhs to dv with the equipment I have at home? I have a dual vhs/dvd player and camera with cables. Sorry I didn’t see a forum for this topic. It will be imported into AE though.

usually, the cables from the camera are output only. Some cameras allow you to capture analog sources to DV, so check your specs on your camera.

If not, you can get a converter for analog to DV conversion. They are about $100 for a low end one, and can get very expensive.

If you have a sony camcorder, you can simply plug your VCR into its rca plug and export directly to dv firewire premiere pro capture.
