Is it possible to export footage from Final Cut back into an EX1?

Can the EX1 record through the SDI port? The analog port? XDCAM Transfer in reverse?

Hmm don’t think so as there’s no way to “live Capture” but maybe someone else has a suggestion.

No, the camera can’t record like a deck, however there is the EX-30 deck soon to be available that will record HD-SDI signals.

    Good Luck

I thought not. Can you point me to any documentation or web page that says for sure? My boss is going to require proof 😉

Sony’s documentations says that it has HDV in/out over Firewire. Anyone have any luck *recording* HDV to the EX1 from Final Cut?

I don’t think you’ll find documentation on something a camera isn’t intended to do. It’s been discussed in various forums though.

I know some would want to go back to the camera and then use the HD-SDI out but the camera simply wasn’t meant to do that.

There are other workflows which range from transferring to optical disk or hard drive and taking it to a dub house or buying the soon to be available EX deck mentioned about.

Why not buy a good video out card?
