transferring final cut bin information to avid xpress
long long ago, we did a project on final cut, thinking “we’ll never have too use this again”. Now, years later, we need to use the bin information, only in avid xpress (or media composer). now, since apple and avid are DEFINATELY not friends, i have no idea how to do this. any ideas?
any help is appreciated!

Can you export the bin info (clip names, tape names, timecodes) as some sort of tab delineated text doc and then bring that into Avid and batch capture it? Just thinking aloud here, but I don’t think there’s a quick or easy way.

AvidLogExchange supports FCP bartch files as well as CinemaTools log files for translating into ALE format. USe the FILE/IMPORT function for conversion.
