transfering project to another computer
Hi guys
Im using vegas pro 11 and i will be editing on a laptop mainly for the editing process. I was wondering if it possible to transfer the completed unrendered project to another computer for the rendering part.As some of my videos can take hours and hours to render I dont particularly want to tie up my laptop for this amount of time. If this is possible what do i need to do/ becareful of etc. thank you.

Make a copy of all the assets used in the project (you do have a master folder to make this easier, I hope) and the veg file, instal this on the other computer (you’ll need a registered copy of Pro 11 on it too) and render as desired.
If you make any changes to the project (on the laptop) prior to rendering, all you need is to copy the veg file over.
This assumes that you haven’t added any new assets.
If you have, those have to be copied over too. -

In the Vegas Pro help for “Save As” it mentions a check box to copy you media assets to the same directory as the project file. This might be useful if all the media assets were scattered around and you can save them to an external drive to transfer to the other desktop.
Select the Copy media with project check box if you want to create copies of each of the project’s media files in the same location as the project file. This allows you to collect all of a project’s assets in a single location.
